This Summer, we were given a limited number of free tickets to see the ‘Queen of Motown’ Diana Ross live in concert as part of her highly anticipated UK tour!
Each show covered her career-spanning greatest hits, from The Supremes to present day, accompanied by her band and three of the UK’s leading orchestras. This marks Diana Ross’s return to the UK for the first shows since her 2023 performance at the Royal Albert Hall for “The Music Legacy Tour”.
These exclusive performances showcased timeless classics from her iconic wide-ranging repertoire, including beloved hits like “Chain Reaction”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, “I’m Coming Out”, “Stop! in the Name of Love” and “Can’t Hurry Love”.

“We had a wonderful time at the Diana Ross concert in Manchester last night. She was amazing as were the orchestra. My daughter absolutely loved every minute. Thank you for the opportunity.”
The stage was set with extravagant velvet curtains to frame Ross and the orchestra behind her, alongside montages of her days with The Supremes, all the way to current images of her and her grandchildren. Alongside three dazzling costume changes with vibrant sparkling gowns, boas and fans galore, the evening was a true celebration of Diana Ross’s iconic legacy.
The shows were attended by 149 young people supported by Young Sounds and their families in and around Birmingham, Nottingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool and London. For some of our young people this was their first experience of an arena show!
“The concert was absolutely amazing! Mam came with us, she is 83 years, so from the same era. Can’t thank you all enough, the best surprise treat ever.”
– JL McGuire, mother of Shia

Young people could attend the concerts with their families for an enriching musical evening out. One of our Thrive participants, Shia McGuire, attended the show with his mum and his grandmother who is a couple years older than Ross herself. Diana was also joined on stage by her daughter, Rhonda Ross, for a couple of songs – so it really was a cross-generational family affair for all.

We’d like to say a huge ‘Thank You’ to The Diana Ross Charitable Foundation, AEG and our Connectors for this incredible opportunity for our young musicians.
These complimentary tickets were offered as part of our ongoing support and opportunities for Thrive and Connect participants. Find out more ways we help young musicians here.
