Arts for Impact

In 2024 we're taking part in the inaugural Arts for Impact campaign!

Donations made to our appeal between Tuesday 19 March and Tuesday 26 March will be doubled!

From helping with mental health to improving social skills, arts and culture can have a huge, meaningful impact on the lives of young musicians. The Arts for Impact campaign aims to support arts and culture charities working to achieve societal impact across the UK.

We're looking to raise £10,000 to help more young people so they don't have to give up their pursuit of a musical future.

If you believe that nothing should stand in the way of a talented young musician reaching their potential, we’d be delighted if you’d support us.

Make a pledge today by filling out the form below. Georgie, our Development Administrator, will be in touch with you soon to let you know how you can make this donation. Thank you!

Giving talent a chance

Can you imagine finally finding something that you love to do, discovering the magic of playing an instrument and creating music only to find that you have to give it up because the cost of lessons stops you from continuing?

This is happening across the UK: children are being prevented from flourishing in music because they’re from a low-income family. We don’t think that's fair.

We see every day how music can change lives and we also know just how expensive it can be to continue with a musical passion.

We’re here to change this, by removing the financial barriers and other obstacles that prevent young people getting into music and helping realise their potential once they’re on their way. We give them the best help and support possible, inspiring them to not only succeed, but to excel.

We do this in all sorts of ways, whether it’s through music workshops, mentoring programmes or playing side by side with professionals like the the BBC Symphony Orchestra in legendary places such as Maida Vale Studios.

AYM is committed to empowering young people to have a voice in their musical education and future, so they have the agency to take a lead on their own musical journey.

You can be a part of that musical journey.

Arts for Impact

Through the Big Give Arts for Impact, your generosity can now go twice as far. From 12 noon on Tuesday 19 March to 12 noon on Tuesday 26 March, any donations made will be doubled until we reach our fundraising target of £10,000.

The Arts for Impact Fund is a ‘1:1’ model of match funding through the Big Give and their partners, New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture (NPAC).

If you donate £30 then Arts for Impact will give us £30.

Which would mean that with Gift Aid, AYM would receive £67.50.

2

£67.50 would pay for a young person’s music lesson.

4

Or it could pay for their train ticket to London for a professional music coaching session.

3

Or it could pay for a set of headphones to use with their home production equipment so they can practise more.

If you believe that every child should have access to music education...

If you're passionate about preserving the future of music for generations to come...

If your own musical journey has shaped your life and you want to pay it forward...

Then please donate today and be a part of something extraordinary.

Your donation isn't just a gift; it's a vote of confidence in the next generation of remarkable musical people.

Together, we can create a world where music education is a right, not a privilege. Your contribution will help ensure that talented children from low income families aren’t left behind and that their music is a vibrant part of our future cultural life.
