The Sybil Brown Award has been established by her family to support talented young pianists.
Sybil (1925-2020) was a musician and piano teacher. She always loved classical music, but her parents were unable to afford a musical education for her. She began learning to play the piano when she was 14 years old, which she funded herself.
She became a very accomplished musician, who received a gold medal from the London School of Music.
She showed great determination, to achieve her musical potential and firmly believed that you should never give up on your dreams.
Her passion for music will live on through this Award
