Thrive musicians to appear at the London Piano Festival 2026

On Sunday 1 November 2026 three young musicians supported by Young Sounds UK will take part in the London Piano Festival! They’ll be featured as part of a piano masterclass with Young Sounds Patron Kathryn Stott. The session will focus on technique and musical interpretation, offering insight drawn from her long career on the international concert stage. Also taking part are Help Musicians Postgraduate Award holders, including Young Sounds Alumna Bridget Yee.

This will be our third masterclass with Kathryn in 2026, following Young Sounds exclusive sessions in Manchester and London earlier in the year.  These sessions challenged our young pianists to think deeply about their instrument and the musical world around it. A fabulous facilitator, the audience stands to learn from Kathryn just as much as the participating pianists.

In addition to the masterclass, Young Sounds Alumnus Martin James Bartlett will be taking part in a Mozart Piano Gala. Martin will join pianists Charles Owen, Katya Apekisheva, Junyan Chen, and Tom Poster to perform repertoire written for four hands and two pianos. This concert offers a chance to experience some of the world’s leading pianists sharing the stage, responding to one another and to the music, in a setting that invites focused listening and genuine connection.
